NK Art Space: A Haven for Nigerian Artists

NK Art Space, a platform for showcasing the works of talented Nigerian visual artists, has been making waves in the art scene since its inception in June 2021. Founded by Tobi Nancy Keshinro, a self-taught visual artist, the platform aims to promote and sell art, establish vibrant links with the citizens, and make people aware of their national and universal cultural heritage.

Revealing the inspiration behind the brand, Keshinro said: “We want the world to see how talented, smart, creative, hardworking, and inspiring African artists are and can be,”

“Our mission is to create opportunities for artists who are in search of a space to exhibit their skills and competencies to a global audience.”

Nk Art space has organized two successful art exhibitions since its launch, showcasing a total of 45 artworks, including sculptures, paintings, and mixed media. The exhibitions provided a unique platform for Nigerian visual artists from different ethnic backgrounds to display their talents and connect with a global audience.

“The exhibitions were a great success,” said Keshinro. “We had a variety of artworks with unique mediums such as metal scraps, oil and acrylic on canvas, nail on board, scrap tires, soapstones, and waste materials. The most interesting part about these artworks were the stories behind producing them.”

The platform’s current goal is to increase visitor engagement to its site and exhibition events by organizing new and exciting exhibitions, hosting events and workshops related to the exhibits, and utilizing social media and other marketing strategies to promote the gallery space to a wider audience. The company also aims to build partnerships with other galleries or organizations in the art community and foster a welcoming environment for visitors by providing excellent customer service and a comfortable space to enjoy the exhibits.

“Our aim is to present a changing program of well-researched, visually stimulating, and thoughtful exhibitions that win the respect and attention of local, national, and internet audiences,” Keshinro added.

Nk Art Space is not just a platform for showcasing art, but also a means of cultivating creativity and promoting economic and intellectual development in the society. With its unique approach to promoting the works of Nigerian artists, the platform is sure to leave an indelible mark on the Nigerian art scene and beyond.
