Project 1000: Yomi Martins, Techpreneur set to empower African Students
Omiyale Yomi Martins, Techpreneur and the powerhouse behind Hagital Consulting Limited, a top-tier tech training institute in Lagos State has revealed plans to empower 1000 students across Africa, through his tech driven programme tagged “Project 1000”.
“I was gobsmacked to find that most tech training institutes were more about the certificates and the fees than actually nurturing tech talents.
“That’s when Hagital Consulting Limited was born – to fix that very problem” the passionate educator, tech guru, Yomi stated in a recent interview.
Over the past four years, Yomi’s brainchild has helped over 10,000 Africans from 15 countries to master high-demand tech skills. From Data Science to Cloud Computing, and even Digital Marketing, Yomi and his team are not just teaching – they are crafting the tech leaders of tomorrow.
His journey wasn’t an overnight success story. Yomi, while recalling his foray into the tech industry, noted that he had cut his teeth in the world of tax accounting with a Big 4 firm, also served as a senior tax advisor in Nigeria’s largest indigenous oil production and exploration company.
“The path hasn’t always been a cakewalk,” he admits, “As a trainer, you can only show the way. The real test comes when the students must walk the path themselves. But not everyone is ready to roll up their sleeves and put in the work.”
Despite the opportunities in the tech industry, Yomi stressed that only people who offer to pay for tutorials will be passionate about learning
“When people pay money, they pay attention,” he said.
On his upcoming programme, Project 1000, aimed at boosting 1,000 micro businesses to a monthly income of 1 million naira in 24 months, Yomi said: “I can’t put into words how it feels to see over a thousand of my students earning their living from the tech skills we taught them. They’re taking care of their families, all thanks to what they learned here at Hagital.”

, added “There’s no shortcut to real, lasting success. If you make it big fast, you could lose it even faster. Just keep building, brick by brick.”
“The day you stop learning is the day you start dying,” he says with conviction.
With this mantra, Yomi is set to keep pushing boundaries, transforming the tech industry one student at a time.
