According to statistics, over 10 million children are out of school in Nigeria, with an estimated 2 million of these children suffering from severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).

Ivarah’s ingenious initiative seeks to bridge the gap that exists among out-of-school children by providing them with warm healthy meals in their classrooms and teaching them the importance of self-leadership.

The philanthropist in a recent press engagement, revealed that the initiative, My9jaFoodBank, has a three-framework strategy that involves educating families and children about nutrition, providing healthy meals in classrooms, and teaching children about selfleadership.

The initiative has been successful in promoting education and reducing malnutrition among children in rural Nigerian communities.

Itofa lvarah’s contribution to supporting zero hunger for Nigerian school children has not gone unnoticed. He is the winner of the Oxfam Hunger Heroes Award and has been featured on TEDx, where he highlighted his journey towards creating a Nigeria where every child has access to education.

“My9jafoodbank is committed to working with partner organizations to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of zero hunger and food security by 2030”, he said.

Ivarah encourages young Nigerians to find ways to solve local problems around them. His initiative, My9jaFoodBank, stands as a testament to the impact that a single individual can have in promoting change in their community.

As Nigeria continues to grapple with issues such as child malnutrition and out of school children, the actions of young Nigerians like Itofa lvarah offer hope for a better future.
