I’m Poised to Serve Rivers People’s Interest, Says Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that the mandate of his administration was to serve the interest of Rivers people with a deep sense of responsibility and commitment.
The governor, who spoke during a special thanksgiving service organised by Chiefs, leaders and stakeholders of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in honour of his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, asserted that he would not be distracted in the discharge of his official functions.
He urged the people of the state to support his administration to succeed as a government to enable him continue the development of the state.
Fubara, who commended the people of Obio/Akpor for their support during the governorship election and also for the honour bestowed on Wike, said the special thanksgiving service was a spiritual intervention to prepare the former governor for higher service to the state, the nation and humanity at large.
“On behalf of the government and people of Rivers State, I thank God for the former governor for his meritorious service to the state. I am happy that my principal ended his tenure well.
“In governance you cannot please everybody, but you must do your best to dispense good governance to the people. The former governor performed exceedingly well and we are going to build on his legacy. I am poised to serve the interest of Rivers State, our target is to develop the state,” he said.
The governor also solicited the continuous prayers of the church for the success of his administration, noting that he would work with critical stakeholders for the overall benefit and development of the state.
