Sanwo-Olu’s Renewed Vision for Lagos

Dr. lshmeal Udenka

“We stand on the threshold of a new era. Our vision for Lagos is one that sees no bounds. It is a vision of a city where dreams take flight, where every citizen is a part of our growth story, and where the global community looks towards us with respect and admiration.”

The above words were from the working re-elected Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a man who has beyond reasonable doubt, surpassed the expectations of the people in his first term.

Sanwo-Olu is tested and trusted. He is what the Igbos call “Ekwueme” meaning: “Talk and Do”. His mind-blowing achievements  in security, health, education, traffic management and transportation,  infrastructure is a testament that he is capable of delivering.

The outstanding performance of the working governor earned him an express victory in the March 25 governorship election. Sanwo-Olu secured an impressive total votes of 762,134 against his main challengers Gbadebo Chinedu Patrick Rhodes-Vivour of the LP who got 312,329 votes while Olajide Jandor’ Adediran of the People’s Democratic Party polled 62,449.

Sanwo-Olu’s transparency, fairness and doggedness in approaching issues (especially the COVID 19 pandemic) concerning the people and the state has also earned him a universal respect.

Sanwo-Olu ensured the total control of

Coronavirus disease (COVID 19) which gave the entire world sleepless nights. Lagos State had recorded the highest number of infections.

His efforts and role to ensure that lives were saved from the dangerous pandemic disease

was noticeable and appreciated by all Nigerians.

I thank you Sir for the privilege and opportunity to work with you. I assure you of the continued support of our people the Igbos living in Lagos, to ensure that our promises to the people State are actualised.

May 29, again, will definitely mark the beginning of a new chapter of another journey to greatness as you revalidate another promise to residents of Lagos.

In your inaugural address, to focus on T.H.E.M.E.S which stands for Transportation and Traffic Management; Health and Environment; Education and Technology; Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy, Entertainment and Tourism and Security and Governance as the major focus of your second term will obviously ensure a greater Lagos than your administration inherited it.

I wish you God’s protection and guidance to accomplish your promise of building a greater Lagos.

Congratulations to you on your re-election and swearing-in our able Governor of Lagos Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
