Cosmetic Expert Equips Women with Skin Protection Strategies in Rainy Season
Following Nigeria’s Meteorological Agency (NIMET) seasonal climate prediction, the Chief Executive Officer of Dabota Cosmetics, Dabota Lawson, has equipped women with skin protection strategies during the rainy season.
She shared these easy-to-do techniques to ensure they retain that beauty, especially their face, even under heavy downpours nationwide.
Lawson said that women could continue to look beautiful and radiant irrespective of the weather when they understand which cosmetics suit their skin as well as face and when to apply them effectively,
While arguing that weather should not be a hindrance for any woman not to maintain her beauty, she stressed that women must understand that their beauty is their power and should always be preserved irrespective of the circumstances.
The cosmetic expert noted that this could only be easy when they understand the product to use during the wet season.
She said this yesterday during a masterclass organised by Elevate by Ecobank in partnership with Her Network, where she took women through practical and theoretical processes of staying ageless.
Lawson informed the participants of the strategies for maintaining a better look in the wet season.
The beauty queen also urged the participants to adhere to the skills listed.
“During the rainy season, if you have oily skin, use a lightweight moisturiser.
“This is because the weather is already cold, and you do not need to apply heavy products, especially makeup, on your face to maintain glowing skin,” she expressed.
Lawson, however, cautioned that if you have dry skin, sometimes the weather could be dry when it is raining.
She continued: “I will also advise that you use an excellent good moisturiser that is not toxic to maintain that radiance that you have before the season kicked off.
“When you keep to this, your makeup will sit perfectly on your face and last all day. Your makeup is expected to enhance the beauty and protect youthful radiance.”
She also warned women against using toxic products that expose their skin to cancer and other irritating diseases, making them age faster than expected.
Lawson stated that any products filled with harsh chemicals further damage the skin, adding that revitalising it to achieve the desired result takes longer than expected.
“Using makeup products with harsh chemicals will eventually make your skin age faster than expected.
“And it will eventually destroy the skin, and it will be exposed to cancer, skin irritation, and others”, she added.
Earlier, the Deputy Director of Ecobank, Carol Oyedeji, disclosed that the platform was for female entrepreneurs to learn more about their businesses and network to boost them.
Oyedeji added that the bank decided to focus on women considering that one out of four entrepreneurs is a female and needed to be assisted in getting their business to their desired height.
“This is a platform for skill acquisition and networking events where women can get to know better and look better always.
“We are focusing on women because one in every four entrepreneurs is women. So, If we advance the course of female business owners, we are growing the economy. And that is very important for us in this financial institution.
According to her, female entrepreneurs often face challenges while growing their businesses, including capacity development and access to finance.
