Winning Nigerian Idol Would Have Been a Personal Triumph, Says Reigny

For Akuwugo Reigneth Oghenevere, one of the musical talents that contested in the ongoing Nigerian Idol, winning the competition would have been a personal victory for her. Having come from a musical family, Reigny’s parents played a significant role in nurturing her talent from an early age. 

However, the hardship that followed her parents’ divorce, threw a spanner into her musical career. Nevertheless, Reigny’s resilient spirit and passion for music propelled her forward.  She recalled how her uncle encouraged her to enter the competition.

“My uncle called me and said I should do this to wipe the tears off my mom’s eyes. Because it’s been a roller coaster for me and my family,” she said. 

 She added that “Winning Nigerian Idol would have been a personal triumph and a chance to inspire others. I did it for myself, my family and everybody who has had to go through one struggle or the other.” 

While her journey on the show ended in the top 10, Reigny plans to continue pursuing her music career and explore her passion for acting.
