Love Inspired me to Start my Foundation – Chinagorom Clare Ezeakacha

Chinagorom Clare Ezeakacha, a compassionate Nigerian social entrepreneur, has dedicated her life to improving the lives of the less privileged through the Clare Cares Foundation. Inspired by love and a desire to bring happiness to others, Clare has embarked on a journey filled with both challenges and rewards, with a focus on making a positive impact on society.

Asked what inspired her to start the Clare Cares Foundation, she said:”It’s been an interesting and life changing process for me. There’s also been a mix of tears and laughter. The one thing that inspired Clare Cares Foundation is love. I love to have everyone around me happy, most especially young people. I started off in the University and made it a ritual to share clothes, food and whatever I had to people who needed the items at the time. Then I proceeded to visiting orphanage homes to share time on my birthday with a few friends and family. Years later, I started Clare Cares Foundation, majorly to have a wider reach and get more help from people to make greater impact. I am a believer of start with the little you can and grow from there. Clare Cares is not about numbers but about the impact on people”.

The benevolent social entrepreneur noted that the foundation ‘s mission statement is to improve the lives of those who are less fortunate by providing access to basic necessities, education, and healthcare.

She said:” We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling life, and we are committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve.

Shedding light on some of the key projects the foundation has embarked on, Ezeakacha said they have purchased JAMB forms, had a Valentine’s day special, embarked on a back to school project, amongst others.

“Recognizing the importance of education in transforming lives, we have consistently provided financial support for the purchase of JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) forms. By enabling more young individuals to access higher education, we are empowering them to pursue their dreams and contribute to the development of their future and the world.

Also, addressing the menstrual health needs of girls and women is crucial for their overall well-being. On Menstrual Hygiene Day, we organize awareness campaigns, providing educational materials, and distribute hygiene kits.

We also embark on back to school projects.Education is a fundamental right for every child. With Back to School project, we provide essentials for school, supplies, uniforms, and books to underprivileged children, ensuring they have equal opportunities to learn and succeed academically”.

On the challenge of being a social entrepreneur, she said
“: The major challenge we had from inception was gathering a team with our vision, limited capacity and funds to run our yearly programs. Each year gradually has been getting better and easy as we have individuals and organizations who constantly support”.
