George Uboh Whistleblowers Network (GUWN), has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct law enforcement agencies to collaborate with whistleblowers.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, chairman of the organization Dr. George Uboh, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in tracing and recovering stolen funds.

Dr. Uboh also urged President Tinubu to reinforce and implement the whistleblower policy introduced during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He stressed the need for an independent office, free from any ministry’s influence, to be led by an individual with a deep understanding of whistleblowing principles and a commitment to protect and compensate whistleblowers.

This appeal aims to foster a more effective partnership between whistleblowers, activists, and law enforcement agencies, enabling them to work together in solving crimes and recovering substantial amounts of misappropriated funds.

The implementation of such measures would not only enhance the fight against corruption but also demonstrate the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
