Edo Concerned Stakeholders Urge Nigerians to Reflect on Significance of Democracy 

A dynamic group dedicated to restoring Edo State’s glory,  Edo Concerned Stakeholders (ECS), has urged Nigerians to reflect on the significance of democracy.

In a statement released by ECS President Oluwafemi Idiakhoa on Democracy Day, observed on June 12, the group emphasized the importance of this historic day in the country.

“Democracy Day holds a special place in the hearts of Nigerians as it symbolizes the triumph of the people’s will and our right to participate in the decision-making processes that shape the nation’s future,” he said.

“We encourage citizens to reflect on the significance of democracy and the role each individual plays in shaping the destiny of their state and nation.”

The group which has dedicated itself to work towards transforming the narrative of Edo through strategic collaborations, advocacy, and the mobilization of youth, called for unity, inclusivity, and the preservation of democratic values, even as it emphasized the importance of active civic participation, responsible voting, and engagement with political processes to ensure a government that truly represents the interests of the people.

It believes that by upholding democratic principles, Nigeria can overcome challenges, achieve sustainable development, and create a society that upholds justice, equality, and prosperity for all.

Furthermore, ECS reiterates its commitment to advancing democratic ideals by advocating for capable leaders aged 35 to 55, who can promote transparent governance in the state.

The group urges citizens to embrace the spirit of democracy, hold their leaders accountable, and actively participate in shaping the future of Edo.
