Fans in Lagos and its environs were treated to a night of unforgettable football and entertainment as the Heineken “Cheers to All Fans” Campaign ended in grand fashion at the Landmark Event Centre and the Cubana Hut & Grill in Ikeja at the weekend.

While the world watched Manchester City secure their well-deserved first-ever Champions League trophy, hundreds of passionate football fans and loyal Heineken consumers in Lagos were not left out of the historic moment when Spanish midfielder Rodri provided the perfectly-placed winning strike that secured the coveted trophy for Manchester City.

Throughout this dramatic Champions League season, Heineken went the extra mile to create remarkable experiences for fans across various cities in Nigeria, ultimately selecting Lagos as the venue for the grand finale.

The lineup of football legends, music stars, DJs, and hypemen assembled for the Champions League final had already set high expectations, and it turned out to be an evening that surpassed even the wildest imaginations of the fans and loyal Heineken consumers.

Among the esteemed guests present at the Landmark event were former Super Eagles player Finidi George, who knows what it feels like to lift the Champions League trophy, as well as his ex-teammate Augustine Eguavoen. Super Falcons captain Onome Ebi also graced the occasion, sharing the magical night with enthusiastic fans.

Before the official match kick-off, Nigeria’s Grammy Award winner Burna Boy delivered a breathtaking performance in an electrifying atmosphere at Istanbul’s Atatürk Olympic Stadium and it wasn’t surprising the energy in Lagos was equally contagious.

The fans joined in the chorus as the superstar artist delighted them with one hit after another, creating an unforgettable experience.

While everyone was behind Burna Boy during his performance, the fans quickly switched and identified with either Man City or Inter when the final match kicked off with only a few staying neutral.

Though City were dubbed favourites going into the final, the in-house pundits; including Finidi George were all tilted towards the Italians winning but at the end of the day, it was the Citizens that emerged the Kings of Europe for the first time ever.

As the celebration began simultaneously in Istanbul and in Manchester, Lagos also caught the buzz as the once ‘divided’ fans became united in celebration; popping cans of Heineken, exchanging bants, wining and dining as the musical performances began in full throttle.

The night was filled with captivating performances by award-winning singers Omah Lay, Fave, Bayanni, and Minz, who held the audience spellbound well into the early hours of Sunday.

The beats of DJs Anonymous and Titanium, along with the vibrant presence of hype man Toby Shang, kept the fans on their feet, adding to the infectious atmosphere.

The roof was also raised in Ikeja where the electrifying trio of Young Jonn, DJ Consequence, and Chuey Chu got the fans asking more.

The Heineken Cheers to All Fans Campaign not only celebrated the pinnacle of European football but also provided an immersive experience for fans with some winning luxury items; including iPhone 14, Apple Wrist Watches, headsets and much more.

As the final whistle blew in the Champions League, the fans in Lagos had truly rocked and popped, ending the campaign in a grand style.
