The Old Grammarians Society (OGS), CMS Grammar School, Bariga, has inaugurated a 40,000 litres water processing plant to enhance the students’ health and standard of living.

The project, worth N11 million, was part of activities to commemorate the school’s 164th Founders’ Day theme, ‘Looking Up by Faith, We See’.

The week-long activities hosted by the 1993 set included lectures, career talk, speech-prize-giving day, novelty match, founders’ day service, commissioning of school projects, luncheon, and student’s feast.

The President of OGS, Mr Olu Vincent, whose tenure just ended, emphasised his administration’s achievements, saying that it has impacted students’ performance over the years.

He listed some of the projects carried out by his administration, including Sen. Gbenga Ashafa E-Resource Library and the laying of the optic fibre in the school, which would enhance students’ academic performance and make them better armed with materials and opportunities for excellence.

In his remarks, the chairman of the Founder’s Day Committee 2023, Dr Dipo Arigbede, lauded the project, adding that the OGS will continue to sustain the tempo of its support.

Earlier, the Principal, Revd. Jacob Ogunyinka commended the 1993 celebration set for their support in ensuring the school’s physical reconstruction, rehabilitation, renovation and restoration of projects.

The programme witnessed an award presentation to Old Boys, who celebrated 60 years of graduating from the school.
