Falgore Emerges Speaker of Kano House of Assembly

The member representing Rogo Constituency in the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Falgore, has emerged the speaker of the state assembly.

Falgore was elected speaker after a wide consultation by the House of Assembly members. The new Speaker emerged from Kano South Senatorial District and is said to be the preferred candidate of the party stakeholders from the zone.

Also,  Muhamma Butu from Rimin Gado constituency emerged as deputy speaker of the house,  while the position of majority leader went to Lawan Husaini of Dala constituency.

Kano state House of Assembly has 40 members with 26 members from the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party ( NNPP), while the All Progressives Congress (APC) has 14 members.

Meanwhile, the Governor Abba  Yusuf, yesterday inaugurated the 10th Kano state House of Assembly, as a mammoth crowd of NNPP supporters adorned with red caps and scarfs thronged the Assembly complex at Audu Bako Secretariat amidst tight security.
