SANWO-OLU ON THE AJA-BADORE ROAD
It took the shellacking of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 25 presidential election for the Lagos State government to respond to the perennial cries of the indigenes and residents of the Ajah, Langbasa and Badore communities in Eti-Osa Local Government Area over the decrepit state of the dual and only road linking these communities which was constructed by the Bola Tinubu government in 2006/7. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu mobilised paving stones to the site for the repair of the road before the governorship election of March 18, but work did not start till many weeks later.
The road has supposedly been repaired, but it is almost in the same condition. Over 80% of the potholes and ditches on the road are still there. In fact, they grow bigger with every new rain. Motorists, passengers and tricyclists who use this critical road curse both the person and administration of Mr Sanwo-Olu every second.
The governor needs to send one or two trusted aides to visit the road and send him a report on the so-called repair of the road. It is regrettable that a road built by Asiwaju Tinubu and maintained well by his successors has become a disgrace now. It is bringing so much shame to the Sanwo-Olu administration. Let him fix this vital road now, so as to end the shame.
