Governor of Lagos State, Femi Pedro has been confirmed as the Chairman of
the 19th edition of the Titan of Tech Africa Awards and Gala night billed for the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, July 21.
The Titans of Tech Awards and Gala Nite is designed to celebrate Nigeria’s
Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) most import men, women, organisations and institutions that are at the forefront of ICT adoption and usage in Nigeria.
It is also an avenue to influence policy, network and connect with key industry players.
Executive Secretary of the Titans of Tech Africa Awards Board, Don Pedro Aganbi, who revealed Femi Pedro’s confirmation, noted that the acceptance was
a clear indication of his understanding of the immense potential of ICT to revive, reform and transform the country.
Femi Pedro became one of the first investor in Guaranty Trust Bank and was responsible for opening a multitude of its branches across the southern and northern parts of Nigeria.
ISPON Explores National Challenges of AI Adoption
The Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) is billed to hold its Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) and conference, where it will explore national challenges in the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
The conference, which will hold on Friday June 16, 2023 at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja Lagos, will usher in a new digital trajectory and National Software Roadmap. Also, ISPON will elect its National Executive Council for the 2023 – 2025 tenure. The new NEC is tasked with the responsibility of guiding the Institute in its quest to champion strategies for the adoption of the fourth industrial revolution in Nigeria. The EGM will also feature a keynote on AI, to be delivered by the Founder/Chairman, Digital Africa, Dr. Evans Woherem. The EGM provides an avenue for members to discuss industry issues, share ideas network and make valuable recommendations to the federal government and by extension, the African Union. The DG’s of NITDA and NOTAP, Presidents of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and Nigeria Professionals Registration Council (CPN), MD, Bank of Industry as well as government and industry stakeholders, will be in attendance.

Mitchell Elegbe Inducted into EY Hall of Fame
The Founder and Group Managing Director of Interswitch Group, Mr. Mitchell Elegbe, has been inducted into the Ernst and Young (EY) World Entrepreneur of the Year (WEOY) Hall of Fame.
