The Association of Oruk Anam Indigenes of Nigeria has thrown its weight behind the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Umo Eno, as he hit the ground running, assuring indigenes that the governor will not disappoint the people of the state.
The National President of the Association, Apostle Raphael Elijah, gave the assurance while addressing indigenes, friends and well-wishers of Oruk Anam Local Government Area resident in Lagos at a joint general assembly of all chapters of the association in Dopemu, Alimosho.
Elijah on behalf of the association, congratulated the Governor Eno and his deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi on their victory in the March 18 gubernatorial election as well as other elected and
sworn-in public office holders in the state including Hon. Samson Idiong, member representing Oruk Anam State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, advising them to be dedicated to duty and do more to advance the state to new heights in leadership and socio-economic development.
While admonishing the Akwa Ibom indigenes to hold to their firm hope for a more united and progressive Akwa Ibom State, Elijah said that Governor Eno-led administration has shown signs of moving the state to greater heights since coming on board in May.
He described Governor Eno as sincere, hardworking and a man with the capacity to deliver.
“Election has come and gone. As people of Akwa Ibom, we must turn our differences into our source of strength to enable progressive development, love and encourage our leaders and ourselves, as well, give our necessary support and cooperation to enable them (our leaders) to deliver their plans toward transforming our State,” Elijah
said.
