Ogun Assembly Re-elects Oluomo as Speaker

The Ogun State House of Assembly has re-elected the Speaker of the nineth Assembly, Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, as the Speaker of the House.

The re-election of Oluomo was sequel to the inauguration of the House and announcement by the Clerk of the House, Deji Adeyanju, calling for nomination for the election to the office of speaker and deputy speaker.

Hon. Lamidi Musefiu from Ado-Odo Ota State Constituency II nominated Oluomo.

In the absence of further nominations, the clerk therefore declared Oluomo as the speaker-elect.

Also elected was the deputy speaker, Hon. Ajayi Bolanle, from Yewa South State Constituency.

The two principal officers of the House were returned unopposed.

The deputy speaker was nominated by Hon. Bakare Oluwayemisi and was duly seconded by Hon. Odunuga Olusegun Kaka.

The election of other principal officers into the assembly followed.
