Fulfil Your Campaign Promises on Trade, Economy — Entrepreneur, Olawoyin Urges Tinubu, Others
Amidst the euphoria of the inaugurations and assumption of offices across all elected positions, a fast-rising entrepreneur and the CEO of Procare Multimedia, Akolade Tolulope Olawoyin, has called on President Bola Tinubu and other leaders across the country to ensure that their campaign promises on revitalising the nation’s economy are strictly adhered to.
Olawoyin said this on Tuesday while addressing newsmen at a trade fair which had young entrepreneurs and some key players in the business world in attendance.
According to Olawoyin, “I must commend President Bola Tinubu and other elected officials across the country for their willingness to serve our nation, and their tenacity during the campaign season.
“The decisions taken by the new administration in the past weeks look promising, but I’ll also like to implore the president and the national economic council that it is imperative for them to bring to fore their campaign promises in decision-making, especially in the aspect of trade and economy.
“They all need to know that their manifestos wasn’t for campaigns only, but a sign of contract between them and the electorates, which propel them into transforming our industries and ensuring displays of impactful leadership at all levels.”
He further explained that, “It is not gainsaying that our country is lagging behind in economy and security. And you’ll agree with me that the two critical issues are intertwined. One can definitely not survive without the other. Insecurity has left a big blow on our trades and investment sector, but I believe, with the help of our leaders, the issue of insecurity is surmountable.”
Olawoyin added that: “To have a working Nigeria is doable, provided that we have good leaders and law-abiding citizens. All we need to do is to revolutionise our seemingly dwindling economy, and the country’s GDP will rise to our desired level in little or no time.
“Taxes and levies can be overbearing on business owners, looking at the cost of production and market value of our products and services, but if we put in place some structures to will make these fees judiciously utilised and abhor corruption, I can assure you that our economy will not only be booming, Nigeria’s poverty rate will reduce drastically.”
While calling for support for the new administration, he urged stakeholders in businesses and enterprises within the country and in diaspora to contribute their individual quotas to the collective development of the country and also do away with political bitterness as elections are over.
