Buni Promises to Collaborate with Assembly for Promotion of Democracy

The Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has promised to work closely and in harmony with the legislature to defend the interest of the people of the state and provide democratic dividends, while equally promoting democracy in the state.

The governor gave the promise while congratulating the newly elected Speaker and other principal officers of  the Yobe State House of Assembly.

Buni, in a statement  said the harmony exhibited by the legislators in the election of the new leadership was both commendable and reassuring.

He said: “This is an indication of a unity of purpose to collectively work for the development of our dear state and the interest of our people.”

According to the governor,  the new leadership parades legislators with cognate experiences and integrity.

He said: “I am satisfied that the Speaker, Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio, Deputy Speaker Hon. Ya’u Dachia, House Leader Hon. Nasiru Hassan Yusuf, Deputy leader Hon. Hassan Mohammed, Chief Whip Hon. Mohammed Awwal Isa Bello and Deputy Chief Whip Hon. Ahmed Musa Dumbol are all seasoned legislators with the requisite qualification and experience to carry out their duties efficiently.

“I want to reassure you that my administration will work closely and in harmony with the legislature to defend the interest of our people, provide democratic dividends, and promote democracy in Yobe state.”

He charged the assembly to see the executive and judicial arms of government as partners in progress that are committed to improving the lives of the people of Yobe state.
