Babcock University Matriculates 3,627 Students

Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo in Ogun, has matriculated 3,627 students admitted in the 2022/2023 academic session. Of this number, the School of Computing and Engineering Sciences topped the list of 12 schools with 1,144 students.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President/Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo, congratulated the matriculating students and parents, saying that education does not just teach the facts but also trains the mind to think.

The VC explained that all its programmes are accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), Intentional Board of Education (IBE) USA and the Adventist Accrediting Association (AA), USA, as well as professional accrediting bodies, which gives prospective candidates the confidence to subscribe to Babcock.

As an institution founded on the principle of leadership through Christian education, Prof.Tayo assured that the university would continue to applaud and celebrate the sterling qualities of integrity, faithfulness and godly conduct among its students.

He warned that the institution would not tolerate hooliganism, cultism, bullying, examination misconduct, stealing, drug addiction and other aberrant behaviour among the students.

Tayo assured the students that the university would give them the needed support to achieve their dream and also model as worthy ambassadors of the nation, parents and the university.

Senior Vice-President of Academics, Prof. Philemon Amanze, congratulated the students and parents while reminding them that Babcock University was an institution where failure was not an excuse.

He said with matriculation over, it was time for them to face the rigour of academic studies and to dare to be different and become change agents.

In her remarks, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) Public Relations Officer in Abeokuta, Miss Abiola Olagunle, urged the students to follow laid down rules and regulations of the school and avoid bad influence if they want in succeed in Babcock University.

According to her, the surest path to success was hard work, discipline, determination and the recognition of God.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of awards of certificate to Emmanuel Oluwanifemi Temiloluwa, with highest Jamb score of 357 in 2022 UTME among those who applied to Babcock University; Kujenya Eniola Esther, Adigwu Isaac Ogochukwukam Efe and Arigbe-Osula Osaite Ikpomwoma who scored 14 points in 2022 Babcock University Jupeb programme and Favour Anene Chukwuemeka with highest CGPA of 4.76 in Babcock University pre-degree programme of 2022.
