Group Calls for Inclusion in President Tinubu’s Govt

Idoma National Elite Forum led by Hon Inalegwu Adaje yesterday in Makurdi, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider the Idoma tribe from Benue for ministerial position.
Adaje while addressing a press conference in Makurdi hailed the president for his magnanimity in considering Benue state for the position of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF)
He went further to state that while the appointment is well appreciated the president should look towards the Idoma ethnicity group for the appointment of minister.
Adaje said it was important to stress that the SGF his Excellency George Akume, the present governor of Benue state, Speaker of the state assembly, the chief judge of the state are all from the TIV speaking tribe and it is only proper if the president looks towards the Idoma ethnicity for the position of a minister.
Adaje said the president doing so will give a sense of belonging to other ethnicity in the state.
“We thank the president for the appointment of the SGF to a well qualified illustrious son of Benue and we must say the president has done us well.In the same vain we plead on the president to consider the Idoma ethnicity for the appointment of minister, we the Idoma control 9 local government in Benue state.”
“It will make sense and in the spirit of unity government as promoted by the president to consider the Idoma’s especially as the Governor, state assembly speaker and the SGF and the state Chief are all of the same ethnicity.”
Adaje, while thanking the president, said he is confident and optimistic about the Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidency.
Prominent Benue sons including Chief Steven Lawani, Mr Micheal Achadu, Ambassador Emmanuel Agbakwu, Mr Emmanuel Jime,Mr Bernabas Gemade and Ambassador Terhemen Tarzoor have been linked to the position.
