5G is Driving New Value Creation in Different Sectors-Chief Finance Officer, Sabrina Meng
Huawei Embraces 5G Transformation
The Chief Financial Officer, Huawei Technologies Co. Limited. Sabrina Meng has disclosed that with the emergence of 5G, a lot of transformation and new value creation are being brought into industrial, economic, and social spaces.
Speaking at the opening day of MWC Shanghai 2023 held recently, Huawei’s Meng, who delivered a keynote titled “Embracing 5G transformation,” pointed out that 5G has been in commercial use around the world for four years now, driving new value creation.
According to her, across all industries and countless households around the world, 5G is changing the way we work and live, creating tremendous economic, industrial, and social value.
“For consumers, 5G, cloud, and AI have set off a chain reaction, new forms of business are emerging in great quantities, and a multiplier effect is readily clear,” she said.
She stated that science and technology are beginning to move towards large, complex systems that require matching technology to specific scenarios and performing systems engineering.
She stressed further that 5G is fast becoming a component of productive systems in many industries across the world. She further noted that the future belongs to 5G as it is most likely going to give rise to new devices and applications that deliver a more immersive experience.
“Strategic patience, in-depth understanding of industrial scenarios, and ongoing improvements to ROI have given 5G a foothold in industrial applications. 5G is also ushering in a new era of super-connectivity between things, bringing new strength to IoT networks and driving new forms of productivity,” she said
“It will not only connect people better – it will also create incredible new business opportunities with more targeted support for industrial needs in domains like IoT, sensing, and advanced manufacturing,” she added.
She said the ongoing success recorded by 5G comes as a result of solution modeling, optimization, as well as tools and methodologies deployed.
She explained that the systematic capabilities to integrate technology and transform management were critical for the future success of 5G.
“The first is integrating different technologies. We can achieve greater synergy across cloud, networks, edge, and devices through systematic design and cross-domain innovation. When coupled with optimization across software, hardware, chips, and algorithms, we can address the challenges associated with developing complex solutions for vastly different industrial scenarios. The second “is the ability to integrate different approaches to management. Digital and intelligent transformation is not just about the technology itself but more about transforming the approach to management,” she added.
She stated that information technologies such as 5G, 5.5G, AI, and cloud would certainly shape the future and bring everyone to an intelligent world.
At the event, Huawei showcased its products and solutions at stands E10 and E50 in Hall N1 of Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).
MWC Shanghai 2023, which kicked off on June 28, will come to an end today in Shanghai, China.
