NADCEL 2023: Army Sensitises Secondary School Students in Sokoto

As part of the activities to mark this year’s Army Day Celebration (NADCEL), the Nigerian Army has sensitised students of the Federal Government College Sokoto (FGC) on the activities and prospect in Nigerian Army.
In a 30 minutes video projected to the students to herald the history, activities and the formation of Nigerian Army, while briefing journalists after the event, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division and Commander Joint Taskforce North West Operation, Hadarin Daji, Maj-Gen Godwin Michael Mutkut, represented by the Garrison Commander of the Division, Brig Gen Taye Ahmed, said July 6 annually is dedicated as Army Day celebration hence the activities before the day.
General Mutkut noted that the Nigerian Army has exceptionally done well in the area of protection of the Nigeria territorial integrity, containing of insurgency in the Northeast, banditry in the Northwest, secessionists in the Southeast and oil thieves in the South-south.
He further explained that as part of the army cooperate social responsibility, it has provided free medical services to its host communities.
The army general maintained that the hallmark of the army work is patriotism and selfless service, saying soldiers lay down their lives in order for others to sleep with their two eyes close.
He said as part of the activities for this year Army Day celebration, there was Juma’at prayer at the mosque last Friday and interdenominational Sunday service at the barracks last Sunday.
Mutkut also said there was going to be free medical outreach for the people of the state before the end of the celebration.
Some of the highlights of the event included questions and answers from the students and the Garrison commander.
