Edo Assembly, State Police Command Seek Synergy for Efficient Policing

Thr Edo State House of Assembly and the state police command have forged a common front in the area of security of lives and property in the state.
Speaking on behalf of other lawmakers, the Speaker of the House, Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, said yesterday during a courtesy visit by the state police command that there is need to work with the security agency towards guaranteeing more peaceful coexistence in the state.
Agbebaku who congratulated the Police Commissioner, Mr. Mohammed Adamu Dankwara, on his elevation, noted that “members of the 8th assembly are from different constituencies, including rural area are in dire need of policing,” and are ready to work with the police.
He promised continued logistic support and urged other members to key into same, emphasising that they would always talk to the people back home to give necessary information to security agents to help in their activities of securing lives and property.
The speaker assured the police commissioner of the resolve of the 8th assembly to ensure that lives of Edo people who elected them to office is constantly safe and secure.
In his response, the state commissioner of police, said that he came to Edo State to achieve zero tolerance to crime and criminality.
Dankwara said he has often told all criminal elements in the state to relocate, stressing that this has yielded positive results with boundaries of the state becoming a safe haven, with the support of local vigilantes and hunters.
He appealed for more information and cooperation from the populace to ensure adequate security of lives in the state.
