Kano Vows to Tackle Climate Change, Energy Others

The Kano State, Governor, Mr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has vowed to implement policies that would tackle climate change and energy challenges in order to revive ailing industries in the state.

Abba was represented by Kano State Deputy Governor, Mr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo during a courtesy visit by participants of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, who were in Kano as part of their study tour.

He also assured that he would implement all their findings and recommendations on climate change, security challenges, industrialisation and energy challenges.

He said: “We are eagerly awaiting your report and we will diligently implement all your findings and recommendations that would help our dear state in the area of industrialisation, energy, security, and climate change.” 

In his remarks, the Director General of NIPSS, Professor Ayo Omotayo, revealed that their mission in Kano was to engage key stakeholders and experts to deliberate on topical issues. 

Omotayo said: “We are going to analyse and identify challenges faced by industries in Kano State, particularly in the areas of energy climate change and understand their impact on the lives of ordinary citizens.” 

The Comptroller of Immigration, Ms. Franka Nwaneka, expressed gratitude to the Kano State Government and its people for the warm welcome.

Nwaneka pledged to utilise their utmost abilities and capacities during the study tour to produce technical knowhow.
