Clean Water Essential to Living Optimum Life – MD, Lasena Water
In Nigeria, the prevalence of waterborne diseases such as cholera, typhoid fever, hepatitis A, and diarrhoea-like illnesses is attributed to poor water quality.
And research has shown that access to clean water significantly reduces the risk of contracting these diseases, resulting in improved public health.
As contained in a press statement, the Managing Director of Lasena Water, a product of the umbrella company OGC Foods and beverages limited, Musa Elakanma, said clean water is essential to living an optimal life.
He emphasised: “As we have all heard at one point or the other the phrase, ‘Water is Life’, this is because water is the bedrock of all human existence.
“We as humans spend the first nine months of our life in water, and 60 per cent of the average human body comprises water.”
Elakanma argued that without water consumption (of any kind) within seven days, the human body may not survive.
Understanding these, he added, it only makes the most sense that we drink clean water to ensure that we live an optimum life free of illness.
Regarding the safety of Lasena Water and the measures in place, Elakanma divulged that the water is sourced from an enclosed aquifer with a depth of 522 meters.
“This thermal aquifer remains untouched by human activity, making it one of the purest water sources available.
“Lasena Artesian Natural Alkaline Mineral Water is from that enclosed thermal aquifer,” he said.
As a company, the MD underscored their aim to ensure that the water its consumers get is in its most natural state possible.
“Our quality control measures meet and exceed industry standards. We ensure that regulatory bodies approve all our processes. We carry out internal and external audits on our systems periodically,” he highlighted.
Addressing concerns about waterborne diseases and contaminants, Elakanma asserted that Lasena Water does not face such issues due to its pristine water source.
He continued: “Lasena ANAM water as a product does not have such concerns due to our water source.
“Lasena Artesian Thermal Aquifer is enclosed, untouched by man, and the water is naturally pumped out at 70 degrees Celsius, making it extremely difficult for many diseases and contaminants to survive.”
“Also, we have several levels of filtration that ensure the utmost safety of our product.”
Elakanma highlighted Lasena Water’s efforts to contribute to water accessibility and sanitation initiatives in underserved communities.
Although he admitted that Access to clean water is a challenge that genuinely needs to be fixed, he said Lasena is piping water to its neighbouring communities with hopes to reach more households soon.
