Ogbechie Urges Businesses to Embrace Change, Prepare for Disruptions

Group Managing Director of Rainoil Limited, Dr. Gabriel Ogbechie has urged industry leaders and entrepreneurs to embrace change in order to stay ahead of the curve and navigate the macro-forces affecting the Nigerian business scene.

Ogbechie, speaking on the topic, “Strategies to Position Your Business for Economic Growth in a Changing World,” at the recently concluded Global Leadership Summit in Lagos, emphasized the importance of ambitious goal-setting, effective strategy execution, and vigilant monitoring of key performance indicators in order to thrive in today’s economic reality.

The 2023 edition of the Global Leadership Summit for Business, themed, “Leading Effectively in Uncertainty,” featured Dr. Ogbechie alongside other business leaders such as the Chair Centre’s Founder, Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, Principal Consultant, Sam Adeyemi Global Leadership Consultancy, Dr. Sam Adeyemi, and other accomplished business leaders

To flourish in today’s economic climate, Ogbechie underlined the importance of industry leaders and entrepreneurs analyzing their business strategy, setting ambitious targets, and ensuring good execution.

This, he claims, was the driving force behind Rainoil’s investment in strategic assets such as the ultramodern multi-product Tank Farms located in three locations with a total capacity of 150 million liters, the 8000 MT LPG Terminal in Ijegun-Egba, Lagos State, a fleet of over 330 trucks, and a retail spread of approximately 180 petrol stations across the country.

He advised business leaders to brace themselves for disruption, citing how Industrial Gas disrupted the low-pour fuel oil (LPFO) market, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) disrupted the Dual-Purpose Kerosene (DPK) market, and electric vehicles are now disrupting the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) market. He challenged industry executives and entrepreneurs to embrace change and stay ahead of the curve in order to navigate the macro-forces changing the Nigerian and global business landscapes.
