Inkblot’s ‘Big Love’ Emerges No1 Nollywood Movie

“Sometimes, the biggest love stories are the ones that take the most courage to tell”, a post on Inkblot Productions’ Instagram page reads, announcing the release of their new title which opened in cinemas nationwide in the last week of June, 2023. It claimed: “Everyone loves ‘Big Love’! We made a beautiful film and it’s evident. Thank you for loving and making it the number one in Nigeria.”
It appears a must-watch for everyone – lovers of Nollywood movies, couples, family and friends. ‘Big Love’ shares a great balance of emotions, love, family life and humour. A feel-good movie that captivated audiences, depicting elements expected in a true love story. Currently making waves across cinemas and likely will extend its remarkable run as more Nigerian movie buffs experience it.
The feature film has since its cinema entry on June 28, drawn rave reviews. Verified by comscore (Official Data Partner to CEAN), ‘Big Love’ has made significant impact at the Nigerian box office as the highest grossing Nollywood film with an impressive performance. With N12, 029,450 in its opening weekend, grossing a total of N19, 675,950 following a strong pre-screening ticket sale.
Distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, the movie is one of Inkblot’s four films slated for theatrical release this year. A romantic drama, ‘Big Love’ tells the story of Adil, portrayed by Timini Egbuson, who falls in love with Adina, played by Bimbo Ademoye, a determined and self-sufficient woman struggling to make ends meet at a graduate training camp.
As their love deepens, Adina’s fears and a hidden secret threaten to destroy their budding love. Written and directed by AMVCA Best Director winner Biodun Stephen, ‘Big Love’ boasts a unique storyline, impressive cinematography and exceptional acting from veterans and young Nollywood stars. Its stellar cast includes Shaffy Bello, Kalu Ikeagwu, Jaiye Kuti, Bimbo Ademoye, Timini Egbuson, Seyi Awolowo, amongst others.
