RMD Surrenders to God at 62

It was RMD’s birthday last Thursday, July 6, and expectedly, the superstar actor took to his social media handle to share a post, surrendering his life to God as he turned 62. “This is 62! Overwhelmed! Completely grateful and thankful. God I surrender. Use me! I’m ready. Again and again. Enable me!” he wrote.

Recall that leading to his 62nd birthday days back, the renowned thespian Richard Mofe Damijo, popularly known as RMD, prepped to shut down the internet with 62 pictures as he counts down to his amazing journey of life, basking in Grace, Favour and Mercy. With dapper photos shared on his instagram page.

It has become more of a tradition for the silver screen god to post photos celebrating his birthday. Last year, RMD shared stunning photos on his 61st birthday. He then expressed gratitude for the grace bestored on him, as he noted how birthdays are a chance to look back, forward and reflect on one’s life.

For this occasion of his 62nd birthday anniversary, the actor who is pretty much loved and admired by many both within and beyond the industry had via a post on his Instagram handle revealed he is releasing 62 pictures to celebrate his new age. He mused over his 60th which he says gave him wings. And beckons at 62.

The veteran RMD noted how every year there is always a red outfit that steals the spotlight. “July!!! My Birthday Month. 60 gave me wings, 62 about to engulf me with grace & favor. Let’s go! 62 pictures for July!! P.S. Every year on my birthday, there’s always a red outfit that steals the spotlight”.

To RMD, July never felt so good! Considering his mood and worthy recognition just days preceding his special day. He had alluded that his birth month comes with perfection and plenty of gifts. RMD had expressed joy as he joined the Oscars Voting Academy. The veteran alongside, Shola Dada, Jade Osiberu, and CJ ‘Fiery’ Obasi had scored an invite to the Academy’s new member list.

According to the release shared via the Academy’s website, the selection was made “based on professional qualifications, with an ongoing commitment to representation, inclusion and equity.” Reacting to the news, an ecstatic RMD said his heart was glad.

He described the news as the best birthday present. “Best Birthday present come early! July my birth month comes not only with perfection but plenty gifts! Ps, I don’t know my sponsors for this yet, but when I do, I will say thank you again. My heart is glad!”
