Benue State All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders Forum has expressed its wish to join voices in the struggle for the actualisation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’, which is centred on uplifting the welfare and wellbeing of the downtrodden Nigerians.
The APC Stakeholders’ Forum, while addressing journalists in Bauchi yesterday, stated that the mission was at the verge of accomplishment, considering the template put in place by the president barely two months after inauguration.
According to the Forum, through its leader, Jackson Alfa Oloja, “You will recall that in various fora, during the campaign period and other spheres of his life, the president has exhibited his ability to appoint round pegs in a round hole, and has stressed that he remains a talent-hunter who is not afraid of employing competent persons to handle the important job for the prosperity of this country.”
He added: “The president, as a talk-and-do personality, has demonstrated this in his recent appointments of Service Chiefs, SGF and others.”
“As the president is in the buildup of constituting the Federal Executive Council, which members will head various ministries, we, as concerned Benue State APC Stakeholders’ Forum, wish to appeal for the nomination of an illustrious son of the state, a renown technocrat and a complete gentleman of high integrity and standard, who has served the country in various capacities, and has contributed to the growth and prosperity of this country through his countless fiscal interventions to the less privileged Nigerians.”
The forum added that Emmanuel Akpakwu is one of the largest employers of labour in the private sector and has demonstrated the ability to strengthen the economic growth of the country through his company, the Global Alliance in motion.
The forum stated: “This person is no other person than Emmanuel Akpakwu. Akpakwu, born on February 16, 1974, obtained a Diploma in Banking and Finance from Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, and a degree in Political Science from the National Open University of Nigeria.
“He is a former consultant with the Federal Government of Nigeria and a member of multiple learned professional organisations.
“In view of his excellent performance in numerous services to humanity, which has earned him many honours and awards in his name, he knows the value and the pertinence of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in this contemporary world, as such, he did not relent to pursuing a Diploma in Computer from Centre for Computer Engineering and Site Power Institute of Technology Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 2002.
“After a thorough evaluation of the Akpakwu’s qualifications, achievements, and commitment to the principles of good governance, we have unanimously declared our unwavering support for Akpakwu, Consul of Philippines in Lagos, for the appointment as minister. Akpakwu consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities and a deep understanding of the challenges facing our great country.”
It added that: “We wish to passionately appeal to the president and all that matters in the rank and file of this country to consider our humble submission and appoint this humble personality to the office of the Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to bring his wealth of experience from the private sector to drive positive economic growth and development.”
