Peace Onuoha Extends Helping Hand to Displaced Families

In the wake of the heart-wrenching killings in Benue and Plateau States, renowned Asaba-based actress, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Peace Onuoha, has taken a stand against the senseless violence. Expressing her deep sadness over the reports of rampant killings in these states, she called on the government and security agencies to take swift action in investigating, tracking, arresting, and decisively dealing with the perpetrators responsible for these heinous acts.

The recent attacks on villages and communities in Plateau and Benue States by suspected Fulani herdsmen have resulted in the loss of numerous lives, with close to 50 people reported dead. President Tinubu also condemned the massacre, stating that innocent lives, including that of an eight-month-old baby, have tragically been lost in the conflict. In the face of such violence, Peace Onuoha emphasizes the urgent need for tolerance, forgiveness, and collaborative efforts among community leaders, religious figures, traditional rulers, and socio-cultural organizations to restore peace and harmony to these conflict-stricken regions.

To alleviate the suffering of the displaced families caught in the midst of this crisis, Peace Onuoha has set in motion plans to provide much-needed food items, clothing, and basic amenities through her non-profit organization, the Peace Onuoha Charity Initiative. This initiative, founded by the philanthropist, aims to extend assistance and support to those in need, particularly women and children affected by displacement and violence.

Earlier in the year, the Peace Onuoha Charity Initiative had visited IDP camps in Abuja’s Area One and Lugbe, donating palliatives to residents in their time of need. Now, with the escalating situation in Jos, the initiative is once again stepping up to offer aid to those grappling with the aftermath of violence and insecurity.

As Peace Onuoha reaches out to bring relief to the displaced villagers currently seeking refuge in IDP camps, she also calls on the government to play an active role in supporting the survivors and securing the vulnerable villages to prevent future attacks. Her tireless efforts to bring hope and comfort to those affected by these tragedies underscore the importance of collective compassion and solidarity during challenging times.

In a country grappling with the consequences of conflict and loss, Peace Onuoha’s commitment to fostering peace and supporting displaced families stands as a shining example of how individual actions can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need. As her efforts resonate with empathy and kindness, we can only hope that they inspire others to join in the noble cause of helping those impacted by violence and displacement.
