Tinubu Back in Abuja After Attending AU Summit in Kenya

President Bola Tinubu has returned to the nation’s capital, Abuja, after attending the 5th mid-year coordination meeting of the African Union (AU) in Nairobi, Kenya.
President Tinubu arrived the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja Monday evening and was received by a number of top government functionaries including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; Chief of Staff to the President, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila; Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinnma and former Kano State governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The president, who attended the AU summit in his capacity as the Chairman of the Authority of the Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), left Abuja on Saturday.
While in Nairobi, President Tinubu joined other African leaders to draft a declaration based on deliberations and conclusions arrived at in the meeting, reaffirmed Africa’s unity and strength, firmly rejecting any notion of a new scramble for Africa.
He also showcased his commitment to strengthening the ECOWAS Standby Force, with the aim to deter coups and combat terrorism in the sub-region.
