The Igho Sanomi Foundation, led by philanthropist Igho Sanomi, recently raised N100 million that was donated to Nigerian children facing critical health conditions. The funds were raised through a remarkable birthday/charity dinner on May 20, 2023.
At the significant gift-giving ceremony held recently in Abuja, organised by the Global Initiative for Peace, Love, and Care (GIPLC), the transformative power of philanthropy was on full display as beneficiaries, and their families who eagerly awaited the life-changing impact filled the hall to share their heart-rending stories.
Eleven-year-old Elizabeth Joseph, in urgent need of a life-saving heart surgery, received a generous gift of N10 million. Similarly, Abiye Amabeoku, a nine-year-old courageously battling the Blount virus, was granted N1.8 million to aid her path to recovery.
The profound impact of the gift-giving ceremony extended to other children such as Kamsiyochukwu Okwudiri, who received N1.5 million to restore her vision, and Kelechi Uhegwu, who obtained a substantial grant of N23.7 million for spinal cord surgery.
Joseph Nosa, a brave four-year-old with a heart condition, was granted N4 million, while Malan Jonathan, a 13-year-old fighting a stomach tumor, received N2 million, offering hope amid adversity.
The generosity of the Igho Sanomi Foundation continued to touch the lives of many other children in need. From Destiny, who received N500,000 to alleviate pain caused by a growth on their buttocks, to Ode Ogine, a six-year-old undergoing chemotherapy, who obtained N2 million to aid in the healing process.
Sanomi, represented by Nuhu Kwajafa, the Director-General of GIPLC, expressed gratitude and emphasized the foundation’s commitment to improving the lives of Nigerian children facing critical health challenges.
Sanomi’s philanthropic endeavors extend beyond the gift-giving ceremony, encompassing initiatives such as raising funds for cancer research and providing aid to flood victims.
