The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has met with Anambra State ICT Agency on ways to fast track the implementation of ICT policy documents in the state.

State focal person on UNDP in Anambra State, Mr. Chiwetalu Okosi, during the visit to Anambra ICT Agency spoke on how they could partner to ensure implementation of the ICT document earlier developed by the agency.

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has consistently harped on the use of ICT in governance to achieve his manifesto to the people of the state.

Soludo recently charged the Anambra ICT Agency on ensuring the achievement of such plan.

The agency had early this month held Anambra ICT Stakeholders’ Engagement Workshop, where stakeholders made contributions to formulate new policies on ICT.

The Managing Director/CEO, Anambra ICT Agency, Mr. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, who briefed journalists after the meeting said that the UNDP visit reflected the kind of strategic partnership his agency is seeking in its quest to realise its mandate.

Agbata said: “This collaboration between Anambra State and the UNDP holds a huge promise for the state’s growth and development.”
