Fubara, Police, Others Partner to Secure Rivers People

Rivers State Governor, Mr Siminalayi Fubara, has sealed partnership with the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) to ensure the security of lives and properties of Rivers people.
Fubara disclosed this yesterday, when he received the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 16, Mr Ben Okolo in Port Harcourt.
The Rivers State governor who assured the people that his administration will partner with the police and other security agencies, said sustaining meaningful development in the state can only take place when there is adequate peace and security.
He, however, solicited the agencies’ support in securing the lives and properties of citizens of the state, adding that vehicles and other logistical support will be provided for the security agencies to carry out their work effectively.
“We will continue to work in synergy with all security agencies in our state, to provide security as it is our priority to secure lives and property of citizens. We are already working out some logistics to ensure your effective operation,” Fubara assured.
On his part, AIG Okolo, who was accompanied on the visit by the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka and other Police chiefs from the Zone said they were on the visit to congratulate the governor on his electoral victory and to express their determination to partner and synergise with the state government in ensuring that the mandate of security is achieved.
Okolo commended Fubara for his commitment to the security of the state and proactive in the governance of the state, since assumption into office.
Meanwhile, the member representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dumnamene Dekor has lauded Fubara on the steps he has taken so far in unlocking the economic potential for residents of the state.
Dekor in a statement yesterday, said that the 50.15 kilometers Port Harcourt Ring Road project flagged off recently, when completed, would bring significant benefit to residents of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital and its environs.
He said: “The long-awaited infrastructural project would provide a vital transportation link around the city, easing traffic congestion and enhancing connectivity for residents and businesses alike”, stating further that the proposed road will encircle Port Harcourt, connecting key areas, neighborhoods, and suburbs, and thereby improving travel efficiency, reducing travel times and creating new cities.
The federal lawmaker further commended Fubara’s commitment to the development and progress of Port Harcourt and described the decision to construct the Ring Road as “a transformative step that would unlock immense economic potential and social advantages for the city and its residents.”
