Super Falcons, Canada Match End in Draw

Super Flacons’ captain and goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, was the hero of the day as Nigeria and Olympic Champions, Canada battled to a draw in the second match in Group B in Melbourne, Australia at the o-going FIFA Women World Cup finals.
Nigeria looks very much contented with the result against one of the World Cup favourites and got a hard-earned point but more importantly, it was the first time Super Falcons will record a goalless draw in their 27 appearances at the quadrennial tournament. .
For Canada, it is disappointment and especially so for Christine Sinclair, who misses the chance to become the first player to score at six FIFA World Cups as she was denied by Nigeria keeper, Nnadozie, who saved the kick just a minute into the second half.
Australia lead Group B with three points after beating Republic of Ireland in the opening match of the group with Canada and Nigeria each have a point, with the Irish yet to get off the mark.
Nigeria will miss the service of versatile midfield star, Deborah Ajibola Abiodun who was red carded late in the match for dangerous challenge on Canadian Rebecca Quinn
