GLG Communications, a leading PR and reputation management agency, recently hosted the Nigerian Public Relations Industry to a resounding success as part of activities to celebrate the annual global World PR Day. The event was held on the 14th July at the Alliance Francaise/Mike Adenuga Centre in Ikoyi Lagos.
The gathering of top PR practitioners brought together industry leaders, renowned professionals, and rising stars on a night filled with celebration, inspiration, and recognition.
The evening started with a vibrant cocktail reception, where professionals and business leaders networked and shared insights on the latest PR trends and innovations. Guests were treated to scrumptious cocktails, champagne and hors d’oeuvres, and photo wall activities.
With a record attendance of distinguished guests, GLG Communications officially unveiled the 2nd edition of its highly anticipated 2023 PR Power List, which recognised and showcased the incredible achievements of the top 50 Nigerian PR and communications professionals over the last twelve months.
These outstanding individuals, selected for their exceptional contributions to the industry, were honoured for their unwavering dedication, creativity, and impact in five categories: Icons, Changemakers, Community Impact, Rising Voices and Media Impact.
In addition to the awards ceremony, the event featured exclusive one-on-one keynote interviews with communications icons in Nigeria and America – the immediate past president of the African Public Relations Association (APRA) & Managing Director of CMC Connect, Yomi Badejo-Okusanya; and Founder of Black At Cannes, Peter Ukhurebor respectively. Both speakers provided the event attendees with unique insights and thought-provoking discussions.
GLG Communications proudly launched the PR Power List Magazine at the event. This world-class publication features some of the most prominent voices in the global communications industry, offering readers exclusive interviews, expert insights, and thought-provoking articles that shed light on the latest trends, challenges and developments in public relations and the broader business landscape.
“The 2nd annual GLG World PR Day cocktail was a tremendous success, and we were thrilled to also unveil our PR Power List Magazine. The magazine, which serves as a platform to amplify the voices of industry leaders and provide valuable insights to professionals and the general public, is one that I am very proud of because of the quality of content and production. We are proud to present this world-class publication to our esteemed audience,” said Omawumi Ogbe, managing partner at GLG Communications.
She further noted this year’s activities, including a power-packed virtual fireside event held on 11th June and the consequent magazine launch, were made possible through the unwavering support and contributions of the entire team at GLG Communications and public relations icons from the global industry who lent their voices and shared their stories and expertise.
