Senator Gbenga Daniel: Definition of Selfless Representation
That many Nigerians have lost hope in the nation’s legislation is simply because many of the lawmakers have failed in their representations.
However, it has never been in doubt that trust can be restored when the people enjoy the much-needed dividends of good and pure representation. Leaders who know their onions and are ready to work for the benefit of their people leave their names in the memory of the people for life.
One leader who has displayed the courage to pull the bull by the horn and do the needful in order to bring our communities to a place where hopes are not only rekindled but where dreams are turned into reality is Senator Gbenga Daniel.
Senator Daniel, a serial entrepreneur, politician and astute businessman has come out with a mission of change for the Ogun East Senatorial district. The two-term governor of Ogun State is fueled by his passion to use politics as a viable tool for societal re-engineering.
As gathered, the former Ogun State governor believes that the time has come to herald policies and initiatives with a direct impact on the welfare of the people. He is of the firm belief that there is much that could be achieved in the Senate through proper legislation, adequate leadership and representation that will ultimately bring governance closer to the grassroots.
A few weeks into his stint in the red chamber of the 10th assembly, the very brilliant politician has proven that he is ready for the purpose that he was elected by his people.
He has also demonstrated his selflessness and empathy, a very rare virtue among many politicians of his generation. Not a few Nigerians were awestruck recently when he wrote to the Ogun State government to stop his pension to avoid taking double remunerations, having returned to public service after 12 years. This act is further proof of his affection and humanness.
“Ogun East is definitely lucky to have gotten it right this time, first time since the country returned to democracy in 1999,’’ a source confirmed.
Society Watch also gathered that the trained engineer also displayed his humanitarian gesture as he gears up to make a positive impact in the lives of the people of Ogun East. It was revealed that through his foundation, the Gateway Front, today, he will officially launch an interest-free microcredit scheme designed to support petty traders and artisans in markets within the senatorial district.
The launch of the Remo Federal Constituency will take place at the Asoludero Hall, GRA, Sagamu.
“Through this interest-free loan scheme, the senator seeks to empower and uplift petty traders and artisans, providing them with the financial support needed to grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods with a vision to create a thriving and prosperous Ogun East,’’ a source disclosed.
