UNILAG Women Society Honours UTME Top Scorer, Others

The University of Lagos Women Society Nursery and Primary (ULWS) has honoured Kamsiyochukwu Umeh and five other products of the institution for scoring 300 and above at the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Umeh, who scored 360, was recognised alongside five others at the school’s prize-giving ceremony recently.

The occasion also witnessed the celebration of excellence in various categories among the school’s pupils.

The head of the school, Mrs Abimbola Afolabi, attributed the success of the former pupils to the solid foundation laid down by the school and cooperation from parents.

She added that the feat also showed the school’s commitment to bringing out the best in its children.

The school head stressed that teachers may not have the financial muscle but are rich in human resources because they impact lives positively.

She appealed to the government to look into the welfare of teachers, as they need to be motivated.

The father of the UTME top scorer, Mr Uzonna Umeh, who represented his daughter, attributed her success to the early foundation laid by the school, the ULWS and support from the parents.
