Imo Guber: Anyanwu Gains Key LGAs as 3000 Leaders Defect to PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Imo state, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, has made significant gains ahead of the November 11 Governorship election.

He captured Ngor Okpala, Owerri West, and Owerri North local government areas after over 3000 leaders and members from various parties, including APC, LP, ACCORD, AA, and APGA, defected to the PDP.

The defections occurred during Anyanwu’s ongoing “Thank You Tour” to the LGAs on Wednesday. The defectors cited unresolved issues and serious divisions within their former parties as the reason for joining the PDP.

Addressing the new members, Senator Anyanwu urged them to join hands with other patriotic citizens to liberate the state from corrupt and greedy leaders.

He highlighted the pressing need to address the state’s security challenges and emphasized his commitment to restoring peace and unity.

Anyanwu expressed concern over the deplorable state of roads in the three LGAs and promised to address the issues of neglect they have faced under the current administration led by Hope Uzodinma.

Notably, he called for unity among aspirants from different zones for the sake of equity, fairness, and justice in the forthcoming election.

Prominent leaders from Ngor Okpala, Owerri West, and Owerri North were present to welcome the defectors into the PDP.

Anyanwu’s entourage included his Deputy, Rt Hon Jones Onyereri, Imo PDP Chairman, Chief Charles Ugwu represented by the State Organizing Secretary, Nze Law Biaduo, and other regional party officials.

The influx of leaders and members from multiple parties has bolstered Senator Anyanwu’s campaign for a secure and prosperous Imo state.
