The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled the National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings of the party to hold on August 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The new dates for the meetings were fixed following the recent resignation of  the former National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdulahi Adamu and former Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore.

It would be recalled that the leadership of the party had postponed the caucus and NEC meetings initially scheduled to hold 10th and 11th July respectively to allow President Bola Tinubu to participate.

However, the meetings which were rescheduled to hold  on 18th and 19th of July, 2023, were again postponed following the resignation of Adamu and Omisore.

THISDAY checks revealed that Adamu and Omisore had resigned their positions based on the President’s order.

But in a notice of meetings released yesterday and signed by the acting National Secretary, Festus Fuanter, said the caucus meeting would hold at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa,  Abuja on Wednesday, while the NEC meeting would hold on Thursday at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

A party source told THISDAY that the NEC will announce the immediate past Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje, as the acting National Chairman of the party.

“The NEC will announce Ganduje as the acting National Chairman of the party at the meeting. There won’t be push back from any quarters because he’s the president’s choice,” the source said.
