BBNaija S8 Roundup: The Stars are Back but Can They Decode Biggie’s Game?
Stories by Vanessa Obioha
It’s been a week in the Big Brother Naija house and the rollercoaster ride is just beginning. Biggie got a house full of seasoned players who know the ins and outs of Big Brother’s game. From the second to the seventh season, the 20 familiar housemates are back for a shot at the coveted title and cash prize. They are Cross, Frodd, Mercy, WhiteMoney, Cee-C, Ilebaye, Angel, Neo, Alex, Seyi, Princess, Uriel, Doyin, Venita, Pere, Ike, Adekunle, Kiddwaya, Soma and Tolanibaj.
The first few days saw the housemates basking in the warmth of camaraderie, reminiscing about their past experiences together. But that warmth slowly turned into an inferno of superiority! Some of these celeb-status players started oozing pride, and one fiery housemate leading the charge is none other than Venita. She makes it crystal clear that she plays by her own rules and can’t be intimidated by anyone. Sure, she might get feisty, but she’s quick to mend fences with an apology.
Alex and Cee-C jumped into the mix, arguing about task execution, while Uriel had an emotional moment after a kiss with Pere, all thanks to Ilebaye’s laughter during rehearsals. And oh boy, Ilebaye has become the centre of attention with her flirtatious ways, catching the eyes of Cross, Pere, Neo and even WhiteMoney. WhiteMoney however sees her as the baby of the house! But, Ilebaye is not backing down, at least, not yet. Still, on Ilebaye, she ruffled Tolanibaj’s feathers when she decided to sleep on Neo’s bed after the Thursday pool party.
Relationships are a juicy strategy for these housemates, and Frodd spills the tea—he is not putting his faith in any of them. Frodd seems to have cosied up with WhiteMoney, and they’re becoming the ultimate gossip tag team of the season.
This season, Biggie dropped some new rules in the house, and one of them is the mysterious Black Envelope immunity. Whoever finds it is safe from eviction. Mercy snagged that immunity for the first week, but the nominations were fake!
With the new twist that housemates can now discuss their nominations, alliances are forming left, right, and centre. We’ve got Angel, Princess, Doyin, Tolanibaj, and their crew teaming up as they plotted to nominate Venita and Seyi.
Having played the game before, the real question now is, can these experienced players outsmart Biggie? They think they’ve got his moves figured out, but tonight’s live eviction will be a litmus test. Will they be caught off guard when Biggie announces that the nominations were a ruse or have they got Biggie’s game decoded?
