In a bid to tackle the huge unemployment crisis in Nigeria, particularly among the youths, a Nigerian technology company, Devosta Solution Limited (DSL), has launched an innovative app “Dice Tutors” as a means of grooming employable skills and reducing poverty in the country.
The Chief Executive Officer of DSL, Mr. Ajayi Ayesa, highlighted the need for knowledge dissemination and its impact on society, and emphasised that the focus of the app goes beyond merely acquiring knowledge but also centered on empowering users to share their expertise with others.
He expressed concern over the existing challenges faced by the Nigerian education system and the lack of job opportunities, citing them as major reasons behind the app’s inception.
Speaking further, Ayesa shed light on the inspiration behind the app’s development, which was the idea to create a platform that could significantly improve the education sector and curtail the unemployment rate in Nigeria.
He emphasised that the world is now global while highlighting the vast opportunities that online connectivity bring,
The app, which is being launched in Nigeria, is set to extend its reach across other African countries, with the primary goal of driving benefits locally before expanding to other regions.
Ayesa introduced the “Devoata Solution Company” and its flagship initiative, “Dice Tutors,” and unveiled a unique community-driven platform connecting schools, parents, students, and private tutors.
He said: “The platform offers an opportunity for tutors to set their own prices and pave their way in the education landscape, thereby fostering a supportive environment for all stakeholders.”
While he acknowledged that the app operates as a profit-making entity, he added that the primary focus is not to amass profits but to make meaningful impact in the lives of both students and tutors.
He expressed the company’s commitment to sponsor students who could not afford the service, ensuring that education remains accessible to all, especially those in remote areas.
Ayesa also recognised the challenges posed by unstable electricity in certain remote regions, and assured that the company has plans to overcome these hurdles to ensure that education reached even the most underserved communities.
He also addressed concerns about online safety during classes, urging parents to actively monitor their children’s participation. To ensure transparency and accountability, Dice Tutors plans to implement recording sessions, allowing oversight of both tutors and students.
