I’ll Sack You If you Fail to Perform, Katsina Gov Tells Commissioners
Francis Sardauna in Katsina
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has told the newly inaugurated commissioners in the state that he will not hesitate to sack anyone who fails to perform or abscond from his duties.
The governor gave the warning after the swearing-in of the 20 commissioners at the People’s Square opposite General Muhammadu Buhari’s Government House, Katsina, on Tuesday.
He said the commissioners would be strictly assessed on performance indicators and anyone who failed to measure up shall be shown the exit door of his government.
Radda, who spoke in Hausa, added that: “I want to assure you that anyone of you who fails to do the right thing or perform would be removed. We will also change you from your place of work.
“We will not allow you to work permanently in one place; we will continue to change you from your place of work to other places for efficient and effective service delivery.”
The governor, however, said his government was rolling out palliative measures to mitigate the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy on the people of the state.
He added that his government was committed to tackling the security and economic challenges bedevilling citizens of the state, particularly those in rural areas, through revolving programmes and policies.
While proclaiming that his government is for the poor, Governor Radda said: “We will do everything possible to alleviate the sufferings of the people in our villages.”
