The AGN International Film Festival will hold in Miami, Florida, United States from November 9-11, 2023 at the Double Tree By Hilton. It is an initiative of the National President, Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas Ejezie, working alongside Alex Okoroji, Chairperson of the Organising Committee of the festival.

Ejezie states: “The festival is a celebration of the brightest Nigerian film and television actors, and it will feature a wide range of events, including a red carpet gala and awards, film screenings, panel discussions, city tours, workshops and seminars, where actors, filmmakers, and other creative professionals can network and learn from each other – as well as meet and engage with their fans and supporters in the diaspora.”

He stressed that the importance of the festival isn’t going to be business as usual but would be an opportunity for actors to get visibility directly from an international community of film makers and producers.

Okoroji said, “Actors are cultural ambassadors of Nigeria, who are daily using their talents and skills to contribute immensely to growing Nollywood as an industry, and the Nigerian economy at large. Despite the challenges that actors face globally, we recognize that Nollywood is a global cultural force with a huge impact on the African diaspora, and we believe that Nollywood has a lot to offer the world – thanks to the storytellers who continue to create magical performances on screen.

“We are thrilled bringing the International Festival to Miami, which is a city with a vibrant cultural scene, and a large population of Nigerian and African immigrants. We believe that the festival will be a great opportunity to showcase Nigerian talents to a global audience and promote cultural understanding, fostering the bilateral ties between Nigeria and the United States of America.

“We are grateful to the African Travel Film Festival for partnering with us on this project and supporting our mission to showcase Nollywood actors to the world, provide opportunities for actors and filmmakers to network, learn from some of the best in the business, and celebrate the incredible talent and creativity of our actors.

“The festival is an important event for not only the guild, but the entire Nigerian film industry and will be a great opportunity to build relationships with international filmmakers and producers as well as promote our arts and culture and some of Nigeria’s biggest brands. Some of the brightest stars in the Nigerian film industry would be attending the festival, including official hosts for the event, Nancy Isime and Joseph Benjamin alongside a lineup of 70+ Nollywood stars.”
