Mustiboy Pays Tribute to Reggae Legend Ras Kimono with New Single ‘Rhumba Stylee

Mustapha Daodu, Nigerian born canadian award winning reggae artist, popularly known and referred to as Mustiboy alias kinky reggae Man pays tribute to Raskimono through the release of a brand new single titled “Rhumba Stylee”.

Ras Kimono is someone whose influence in reggae music and the entertainment industry in general will be felt for a long time, especially by those who appreciate his music and the genre it represents. Rum-Bar Style (Rhumba Style) was the lead single in his debut album, ‘Under Pressure’.

It was a hit in Nigeria when it was released in Nigeria in 1989, and the accompanying ‘twist dance’ only made it better and more popular.

“I remember my friends and I used to always do the moves to it whenever we heard the song on the airwaves or on music speakers. I had always been a reggae music lover, and it felt good to know that one of our own had decided to venture into the genre”, Mustiboy, recalled in a recent interview.

Continuing, “Ras was a prominent act in the 80’s and 90’s, and he and my music played a major role in the development of my passion for music. He enjoyed making music for himself and his fans, and he used his music to expose what is wrong with society and illustrate the difficulties faced by the common man in our society”.

He further revealed that the music cover was a fun and nostalgic process that made him feel connected to Ras Kimono in a special way, and hope that people enjoy listening to it as much as he enjoyed creating it.
