Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has urged the state’s Minister-designate, Shaibu Audu, to build on the legacies of his father and former governor of the state, the late Abubakar Audu.

Bello gave the charge when he received the Audus, who paid him a thank you visit at his residence in Abuja, weekend.
In a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Muhammed Onogwu, the governor said, “the joy that accompanied your nomination worldwide must be sustained through how you conduct yourself and lead the people. I have no doubt you will make the nation proud.”

He stressed the importance of unity and tolerance among the three senatorial districts of the state, stating that tribal sentiments had no place in modern politics.
Bello assured the minister-designate of his unwavering support, believing he would go far and make the nation proud by building on his father’s legacy.
He also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity, assuring him of the state’s unwavering support for his administration.

Responding on behalf of the family, Eke Maimunat Audu, a legal practitioner, expressed deep appreciation to Bello for submitting their brother’s name for the ministerial appointment, adding that, they were confident that the minister-designate would deliver with excellence and make both the state and nation proud.
Kabir Arome Audu said their late father’s wish was for his legacy of good governance and a united Kogi State to continue.
