TeamNigeria4Change Hosts Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu Paravolley Challenge Cup in Lagos

In a remarkable display of empathy and support for the disabled community, TeamNigeria4Change, in collaboration with the Nigeria Paravolley Federation, is set to hold the two-day Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu Paravolley Challenge Cup in Lagos. This partnership aims to showcase the empathy of Lagos State Governor’s wife, Ibijoke Sanwoolu, towards the disabled, with the President of the West Africa ParaVolley Union present to witness the event.

According to Bestman Nze-Jumbo, the founder of TeamNigeria4Change, the challenge cup is a way to give back to grassroots people, particularly disabled paravolley players who may not directly benefit from government support. This initiative is a contribution to the office of the First Lady of Lagos State.

Eight teams, comprising four male and four female teams, are currently in camp at the Teslim Balogun stadium, preparing for the challenge cup. The jerseys of the participating teams will bear the name “Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu Challenge Cup 2023,” sending a message of encouragement to the players to overcome their disabilities.

The winning teams will receive handsome prizes and cash rewards from the First Lady, and this competition will become an annual event.

Mr. Robinson Tumwesigye, President of the West Africa ParaVolley Union, expressed gratitude to the organizers for their efforts in supporting underprivileged paravolley players in Lagos State.

Mr. Kayode Ladele, President of the Paravolley Federation of Nigeria, also acknowledged the support received from the organization through the office of the First Lady.

The two-day event, scheduled for August 12th and 13th, 2023, will take place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium. In addition to the competitions, there will be the distribution of sports gear, equipment, and financial assistance to the players for their well-being.

The inaugural Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu Paravolley Challenge Cup is a means of appreciating the Lagos First Lady for her unwavering support and commitment to the #GreaterLagos vision led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
