NEPC, Zeenab Foods Limited launches programme to boost Nigerian non-oil exports
Zeenab Foods Limited (Operators of the Nigerian Export Trade House China and Far-East Region) and The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) have launched the Nigerian Exporters Hub (NEXHUB) and the Youth for Export Programme (YEP) at the NEPC Headquarters in Abuja, Today August 16, 2023. The goal of this initiative is to provide opportunities for young people to excel in the export industry.
The YEP initiative aims to promote the involvement of Nigerian youths in the non-oil exports industry by giving them the necessary knowledge and skills. This gives them the opportunity to compete effectively and participate more actively in the global market through the NEXHUB platform. As a result, Nigeria’s trade deficit in the international market is likely to decrease, while the country’s overall exports will increase.
Mr. Victor Ayemere, the Managing Director/CEO of Zeenab Foods Limited, expressed his excitement about the launch of NEXHUB and the YEP initiative, as he urged everyone to do export with NEXHUB as NEPC will train and NEXIM Bank will facilitate loans through their Women and Youth Export Facility (WAYEF) in order to empower them become export champions.
Also speaking, The Permanent Secretary to the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sport Development represented by Mrs Cordelia , commended NEPC and Zeenab Foods’ initiative and urged the youth to seize this empowering opportunity.
The occasion was graced by highly distinguished officials which included the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), representatives from the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM), the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, as well as other esteemed.
Through the Nigerian Exporters Hub, over a million young people have been successfully trained in the field of exporting agro commodities. This is evident as corps members who participated actively in NEXHUB’s Export Hand-holding exercise were given cheques in dollars at the event in order to boost the inclusiveness and empowerment of youth in non-oil exports.
