“We appreciate the suggestions to defer the ministry’s name to better reflect our digital transformation goals.”

Gwarzo explained that a dedicated committee would be formulated to develop the state’s policy aligning with socioeconomic history of Kano State in order to achieve the desired objectives.

“We seek continuous support from our foreign commonwealth development office in shaping our ministry’s mandates and refining our economic policy,” the deputy governor stated.

In her remarks, the Coordinators of Blue Sapphire Hub, Maryam Lawal, who presented the action plans to the state government, said the second call to action is for the state government to let the state have digital economic
policy.

She said: “With all the presentations and calls to action, we call on the Kano State Government to review the name of the Ministry of Science Technology and innovation to Ministry of Science, Technology and Digital Economy so that we can start driving towards the digital economy.

“The second call to action is for the state government to let the state have digital economic policy.”
